Luxury fashion brand Chloé announced it will be the first collaborator with Angelina Jolie’s new fashion space, Atelier Jolie, with a forthcoming ready-to-wear capsule collection “celebrating femininity.”
The collection will be co-designed by Chloé Creative Director Gabriela Hearst and Atelier Jolie founder Angelina Jolie. Chloé x Atelier Jolie will have an evening wear focus defined by fluid silhouettes and tactile details “inspired by perennial pieces from Angelina Jolie’s own well-loved wardrobe,” the company said.
It could be Hearst’s final collection for Chloé, Women’s Wear Daily reports, as sources told WWD that Hearst plans to leave the French fashion house after Paris Fashion Week in the fall to focus on her signature brand, based in New York, and other projects.
The companies did not give a release date for the collection.
Chloé said the capsule collection with Jolie will honor both brands’ commitments to improving social and environmental sustainability with greater transparency and accountability.
Jolie announced the launch of Atelier Jolie last month, saying that the creative space for designers would follow sustainable practices such as using only leftover vintage material and deadstock. In her three years at Chloé, Hearst has been instrumental in establishing the company as sustainable and purpose-led, per WWD.
Parts of the new collaborative collection will showcase the work of artisans from a Fair Trade enterprise, Chloé said, while multiple looks will use deadstock and materials that have a lower environmental impact.
In October 2021, Chloé became the first European luxury brand to receive B Corp certification, a designation given to companies that meet certain performance, accountability and transparency standards in areas ranging from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and materials use.
